The Smoothing Broach will burnish the hole thus reducing friction and increasing pivot life.

PIVOT FILE & BURNISHER
This tool is essential when either making new or re-finishing worn pivots. It is a double ended with a fine file at one end and a burnisher
at the other. Supplied either left handed or right handed as shown, depending on how the clockmaker prefers to work.
